At POD Publishing, our mission is to give children an outlet and resources when dealing with the impact and associated anxiety of their parent's deployment. We aim to help enforce the foundation that empowers kids to read.
Our authors create storylines designed to help kids who are impacted by the military lifestyle (deployments, separations, frequent moving, etc.). Several military children are forced to deal with the anxiety of their parents deploying for months at a time; we believe its crucial to provide a positive outlet to help the kids get past their crisis with resources for immediate assistance via hotlines and/or chat and long-term solutions such as counseling and/or therapy. Very few truly understand the unspoken harsh realities associated with being a military child.
As a member of the armed forces, I've witnessed the impact military life had on my daughter's life, as well as the lives of fellow shipmates and their children. Our hope is that our books help the brave men and women who sacrifice daily, for the civil liberties so many enjoy in our great nation.
Meet Our Author
Craig McKnight is a native of New Orleans, LA. He has honorably served in the US. Navy for 18 years as an Information Professional Officer. He became an author to inspire children to read and to provide them with a tool that will help them understand how to deal with separation, as well as provide them with some available resources to reassure them that they are not alone. Craig hopes that these books can be a resource for military parents and spouses to use as they prepare for deployments, along with preparing their kids for daddy or mommy not being available on a daily basis.
